A competition entry for a new museum in Germany to house the Bauhaus collection and space for special exhibitions and educational workshop. The site is located within a park in the centre of town. Our initial thought was to disturb the existing landscape as little as possible. thus all the programs were housed underground beneath a newly designed landscape.
To bring in natural light, select location on the landscape were ‘peeled’ off the ground plane and other parts were sunken to the level of the museum, thereby generating the contours of the museum roof.
